Layered lighting combines three types of light working together: task lighting where you work (under-cabinet, over the sink), ambient lighting that fills the room (recessed, ceiling fixtures), and accent lighting that adds warmth and character (pendants, toe-kick, glass-cabinet glow). Most frustrating kitchens have only one layer — usually a glaring ceiling grid. Layering is what makes a kitchen feel both functional and inviting, and it's the heart of every design we do.
Can you add lighting without tearing up my whole ceiling?
Usually, yes. Modern low-profile LEDs, careful fishing of wires, and precise cuts mean most lighting upgrades need only small, patchable openings — and we patch and paint what we open. During your consultation we'll tell you honestly which fixtures are easy wins in your ceiling and which would need more work, before you commit to anything.

Swapping fixtures on existing boxes is very different from adding recessed cans, under-cabinet strips, and new dimmer circuits.
